PUBLIC RIOTS IN INDIA
India, our motherland is a diverse country with a history of rounding reverence for people from all religions round the globe. The country that has glorified "unity in diversity" since ages. But now in the age of broadening mindset, our nation is burning in the flames of public riots in the names of religion or caste.
This is sad as people nowadays are easily getting brainwashed. Their sentiments are so low that they are influenced even with a small false social media posts and they are ready to burn down the region being hurt due to it
.
This year only, amidst this pandemic and lockdown we have witnessed two huge riots, burning down the prominent cities of the nation 'Delhi' and 'Bangalore'.
And deep down when we look for the reason behind this, it was either someones hate speech, provocation or a mere social media post. But the devastating results could be clearly seen and are horrifying.
People need to understand that these riots are mostly political weapons used by the political leaders, who don't loose anything, rather earn lots of fame due to this. But the commoners, who are provoked and are made to participate in these riots tends to lose their everything. It is all just a gameplay with the sentiments and the mindset of the mob for the fulfilling their own needs.
We are no more kids to blindly accept what is told to us, we need to think deeply, as these riots are mostly provoked in the names of religion, before taking any actions we need to recall the beliefs and actions of the deities whom we worship or follow. None of the deity was in favor of violence, rather everyone preached peace, harmony, tolerance and brotherhood.
Media plays the crucial role during all these situations, instead of just covering the incidents and using sentimental headlines for gaining TRP. It should rather focus on diverting people from these anti-social stuff and spread social awareness regarding the reality, so the riots could be stopped.
One of the main reasons for a society’s escalation is intolerance to be a transgression. We, being democratic citizens must condemn such acts. We should put our Nationality before our community or religion or caste. We are from the same land, we share same history, culture, social and communal harmony. We are not puppets to these political jargons to be destroying ourselves due to their anti-social and anti-national agendas.
